I’m always looking at bedroom furniture. I need to get a new bed and I’d like a dresser too; but there are too many cool choice out there. Before I thought I really wanted the Flower Inlay Bedroom Dresser from vivavi but recently I saw the Green:Mod Wood Stripe, (above) also from vivavi, and I’m not sure which I like better. vivavi kicks you know what when it comes to dressers in my opinion. They make it hard to choose.
The Mod Wood Stripe is made with a renewable bamboo frame and an FSC certified birch plywood interior (both made with formaldehyde-free adhesives). The front is made of domestic solid walnut and finished with a low VOC water-based lacquer. I really like the multicolor factor of this dresser. Then I thought, if they make such nice dressers at vivavi, maybe I could find a bed there too.
I looked, and vivavi carries three beds. Two were a little ornate for my taste, but I do really like the Irenic Bed by John Wiggers.

It’s not a platform, which is what I’m leaning towards in a bed, but it does have pretty lines and nice color. The bed is handcrafted using FSC certified sustainable wood and includes a small inlay of rare Amboyna on the headboard – a hardwood culled from the last board of the first sustainably harvested wood from the Solomon Islands. That’s cool. It’s also got non-toxic finish.
I already know what sort of mattress I’m getting; and I’m not sure it would fit this bed, but I’ve got time to look so… it’s all good. Overall, this is a good green choice if you happen to be bed shopping.
