A Bang-Up Eco Design

February 5th, 2008

Bang Design has a line called pli that merges nice eco sensibility with a classic, clean look. I like the plain cream color pieces but I just keep thinking how great the dark chairs would be for a nice bachelor pad. The entire line makes for a good collection, say for a whole office setting; but alone the pieces could really perk up a home corner.

From Bang Design:

“Pli is a combination of a plywood shell and brushed stainless steel leg frame. Sourced from sustainable plantation grown timber.”

Lots more delightful, artistic minded furniture pieces to see at Bang Design.

Twisted Sustainable Table

January 30th, 2008

You don’t often see twisted tables. This Twist Wood Table from Gaiam is a twisty delight. Carved from a single piece of sustainable blonde mango wood, it’s rumored to crack, which will only add to its unique appeal. I like items that become more individualized with time. I really like it. I’m not sure what I’d use it for - maybe a plant stand or for a lamp perhaps. It’s a little small for an actual side table, (10″ square x 22″H) but charming none-the-less.

By the way, you may not be table shopping, but Gaiam is having their annual organic bedding sale right now. It’s absolutely worth checking out. Up to 25% off organic bedding.

Mod Bamboo Stools

January 28th, 2008

I need a couple of these stools. Well, I don’t need them, but how great would they be for company. 100% bamboo, sleek design, and a touch of curved whimsy, make these Modern Bamboo Becca stools from Design Public a fresh idea for your home. Available in cherry and ebony - but my favorite is the natural. Bamboo really stands alone in color.
